Storopack, an American manufacturer and marketer of protective packaging solutions, has acquired the industrial packaging business of CleanPak Products based in Tampa, Florida.
The acquisition would cover loose fill manufacturing and distribution solutions from CleanPak as well as other redistribution products, including bubble wrap, bubble-lined mailers, and rolled foam.
Storopack believes the deal will solidify its position in Florida as well as the US, making it the complete supplier of equipment-based and non-equipment-based protective packaging solutions.
Plastics Today quoted Storopack US vice president Joe LaGrasta as saying that they worked in close association with CleanPak owner and president George Brydon to ensure an uninterrupted supply of protective products.
"Our distributors and customers in the Florida region will see virtually no change in their dealings. In fact, they will soon be capitalizing on the increased opportunities, offerings, and efficiencies this acquisition brings."
Aiming to leverage synergies with similar acquisitions, Storopack also recently initiated a partnership and acquired majority stakes in Action Corrugated Supply and Specialty Converting, both of which are based in Florida.
These two entities are now collectively known as Action Specialty Packaging, which serves Florida market with single-face corrugated and paper rolls, corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, and mailers, as cited in Plastics Today.
While talking to the publication, Storopack North America president Daniel Wachter said: "The partnership will enable Storopack to even better serve its distributors and customers in these key business areas and to further develop business opportunities in the Florida market and beyond."
