I love metal working and bandsaws are one of my favorites. DeWALT has finally announced their DCS371M1 band saw. Plumbers and electricians have fallen in love with the Milwaukee 12V band saw now they have a DeWALT option. While the DeWALT is not "sub compact" like the Milwaukee and weighs a little under 3 lbs more at 9.4lbs. 20V power should be a substantial increase in power over a 12V platform.
The DCS371M1 has the same cutting capacity as the Bosch BSH180 which is 2.5″. This is pretty much the standard and a good capacity for most any trade. The unit has an LED to illuminate the work area. The band saw comes in a bare kit (DCS371B) that retails at $239 and one that comes with a 4.0 battery and charger (DCS371M1). We should have a review on this soon.
