Coregistics Unveiled New Liquid Filling Capability

US-based packaging-centric supply chain services company Coregistics has unveiled new liquid filling capability called 'sachet filling', which expands its primary packaging offering.

Said to be useful for liquids, creams and gels, the new format can also be applied for a range of packaging initiatives comprising product samples and single dose or single use configurations for food, beverage, household, pharmaceutical, personal care and cosmetics customers.

Coregistics has developed the flexible solution beginning with tanker truck handling or unloading, pumping and liquid or gel storing, using its experience with horizontal form fill seal equipment and technology, as well as volumetric delivery systems.

In the process, when the liquid or gel is delivered to the sachet line the machine, which uses laminated film on a roll, forms the bottom of the pouch and heat seals the sides to create the individual sachets.

Prior to sealing the top, the system dispenses the specified amount of required product into each sachet in order to create the final package, the company noted.

With the new approach, the company produces sachet sizes that range from less than 2" in length and width to more than 13" in length and a width of 5.5".

Using the machine, various formats of stand up or gusseted sachets or pouches, die cut shapes and a variety of hole punches can be made, while sealing options including easy-open, directional pour spouts and re-closable seals or zippers.

Coregistics CEO Eric Wilhelm said the new format is replacing the traditional sample bottle or container.

"By eliminating the costly, bulky bottles, customers recognize a number of benefits including significant reductions in material costs, storage space and carbon footprint," Wilhelm added.

"Coregistics not only offers our brand-owner customers this filling capability, but we help them push the sachet filling envelope in creative and innovative ways as well."

Coregistics, which has six strategic locations in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New Jersey, Ohio and Tennessee, provides primary and secondary packaging solutions for different consumer goods companies.
