Stanford Stadium will receive two new LED video displays and a fascia display designed and manufactured by Daktronics of Brookings, S.D. These displays will be installed during the summer of 2013 and will be ready for Stanford University Cardinal football this coming season in Stanford, Calif
“We are thrilled to deliver technology upgrades to Stanford Stadium this fall with a continuous 360-degree ribbon display and new matching video displays,” Senior Assistant Athletic Director Kurt Svoboda said. “Stanford Stadium is a beautiful venue with great sight-lines. These boards will greatly enhance an already terrific game-day experience here on The Farm.”
Stanford Stadium will receive two main LED video displays, one in each end zone. These displays will each measure 24 feet high by 66 feet wide and will feature a 13HD pixel layout. They are capable of showing one large image to highlight live video and instant replays. They can also be divided into separate windows to show a variety of vivid graphics, colorful animations, up-to-the-minute statistics, scoring information and sponsor advertisements.
Along with the main displays, the installation includes a 360-degree ribbon display which is unique to the outdoor stadium marketplace. The display circles the entire stadium along the fascia of the seating area and will measure approximately 2 feet high by 1,680 feet wide and will feature 20 millimeter line spacing. This display will provide the opportunity to showcase sponsors throughout events and provide up-to-the-minute statistics and game information.
The installation will also include two LED game clocks that will each measure 7 feet high by 9 inches wide.
All of the Daktronics displays will incorporate excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility while providing multiple levels of protection from the elements creating an ideal view of the game-day action from every seat.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Stanford University,” said Adam Kopperud, Daktronics sales representative. “The new video and fascia displays will definitely enhance the fan experience and will provide a unique game-day atmosphere for all Cardinal fans at Stanford Stadium.”
Daktronics will also be including its powerful Show Control System with this installation. This industry-leading system provides a combination of display control software, world-class video processing, data integration and playback hardware that forms a user-friendly production solution.
