a Non-Surgical Circumcision Device Which Could Help in Preventing The Spread of Aids

World Health Organization (WHO) has given its approval to a non-surgical circumcision device, which could help in preventing the spread of AIDS, especially in Africa.

The circumcision device was designed by an Irsaeli company Circ MedTech.

Apart from the conventional surgery, the PrePex is the only circumcision method that has received approval from the international health organization.

The PrePex device is expected to help in saving thousands of lives.

It is believed that circumcision can reduce the chance of a male from contracting HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, through sexual intercourse by atleast about 60%.

Considered to be safer than surgery, health teams can employ the PrePex to kill off a male's foreskin with the utilization of a rubber band. To perfrom this procedure, only topical anesthesia is required.

AIDS is a spiralling epidemic in Africa and US has till date paid for over two million circumcisions in the continent.
