Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, the Chinese Academy of Sciences disclosed the researchers of the strong magnetic science center found in experiments that a superconducting material has a high current carrying capacity to take a step forward the dream of the superconducting power transmission system.
The researchers successfully obtained the Nb2PdxS5-y (0.6 < x < 1) superconducting fiber with excellent superconducting transition and a diameter of 0.3 microns to 3 microns through the high-temperature and solid-state reaction method. These fiber samples have excellent flexibility and are very stable in air, indicating such material has a good practical application prospect.
