Italian carmaker Fiat is planning to unveil its Panda 4×4 car at the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show in France.
The new car will be offered with two powertrain options, which include a 0.9litre TwinAir Turbo, which will generate a total output of 84hp and the 1.3litre MultiJet diesel unit, which produces an output of 74hp.
According to the carmaker, the both the engine variants are mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a low-range first gear, which wil assist the driver on uphill starts.
Power to all wheels of the vehicle will be delivered through an electronically-controlled coupling, which controls the differentials, while, the Electronic Locking Differential will apply the brakes individually to all the wheels following the detection of wheel slip.
Along with the 4×4 model, FIat is also planning to unveil Panda line-up in two more variants, including Trekking and Natural Power.
The two-wheel drive Trekking will incorporate features of the 4x4 version with Traction+ technology whichcis expected to enhance the handling on slippery surface.
FIat said that the Natural Power variant will be powered by a dual fuel (methane and petrol) TwinAir Turbo engine.
