Germany-based Multivac, a manufacturer of packaging materials for food, pharma and consumer products, has launched a new R 081 thermoforming packaging machine.
Being an an entry-level model for packing products in small batches, R 081 adds to Multivac's portfolio. It can also be used in cleanroom conditions.
It is available in different nominal machine widths which enables flexibility in laying out formats.
Equipped with electrical lifting units, the machine ensures enhanced pack security. The lifting units help in providing increased sealing forces and optimised distribution of sealing pressure, resulting in a seal with improved quality.
The new model is capable of running flexible and rigid films along with paper-based packaging materials and Tyvek and producing vacuum packs and modified atmosphere packs with reduced residual oxygen content.
Slide-in technology enables quick and easy change of the forming and sealing dies. It is also easily reproducible, which means that the machine can be used for packaging a range of products of small and medium sizes efficiently.
The machine can also be equipped as an option with different printing, labelling and monitoring systems.
Manual advance of individual cycles with a foot switch can also be enabled on the machine where products need to be loaded by hand.
With over 4000 employees across the world, Multivac specializes in producing traysealers, vacuum chamber machines, belt-fed chamber machines, labellers, quality control systems and automation solutions apart from thermoforming packaging machines.
Multivac will be displaying the R 081 for the first time at ACHEMA from 15 to 19 June 2015.
