A Third Montex Stenter From Monforts Has Been Delivered to Meet Production Demands

A third Montex stenter from Monforts has been delivered to Turkey’s Sever Konfeksiyon to meet increased production demands.

Turkey’s Sever Konfeksiyon has taken delivery of its third Montex stenter from A.Monforts Textilmaschinen to meet increasing production demands for its quality products. Located in Usak, some 220km east of Izmir, Sever has rapidly gained an enviable reputation for its wide range of home textiles and ladies over garments in the region.

The company was founded in 1967 by Fahri Sever and his three sons, Ismail, Mehmet and Caner, bleaching, dyeing and printing cotton fabrics. By 1988 the company had become a fully integrated operation, introducing its own in-house finishing facility to produce a wide range of finished home textiles.

According to Mehmet Sever, the company quickly recognized the importance of improving its finishing to achieve higher quality production of all its products.

“In 1998 we ordered our first Montex stenter from Monforts for its new technology and highly engineered build offered”, he confirmed.

As production increased, a second Montex was installed in 2004 and the third ordered late last year through the local Monforts Representative, Elitez.

The latest addition features a nominal working width of 280 cm, eight compartments and an operating speed of 5 – 100 m/min. The oil-heated stenter also features Monforts integrated heat recovery system and a Montex padder.

A combined pin/clip chain facilitates easy operation for either polyester or cotton fabrics.

Recent developments introduced by Sever include seersucker and satin linen production. “For the future” said Caner Sever, “We are looking at introducing a wider range of satin products and anticipate that bamboo linen fabrics will become more fashionable – with both fabrics easily handled by our latest Montex,” he said.

Since its early days following the installation of the first Montex Sever has seen production more than treble from 30,000 m² to 90,000m².

The complete production process, including washing, bleaching, printing and finishing means that fabrics can make up to four or five passes through the three stenters; each handling fabric weights ranging from 100 – 250 gm/m².

Although the majority of production is intended for the local domestic market, increasing orders are being received for export under the Sever brand name.
