Danish brewing company Carlsberg Group and the Brooklyn Brewery of New York have joined hands for the second time to open a new brewery in Trondheim, Norway.
To be built at the existing Ringnes E.C. Dahls brewery site in Trondheim, the new brewery will feature pub, restaurant, conference facilities and visitor centre and is expected to serve as a collaborative test lab for new ideas and experiments.
Slated to open in late summer next year, the new E.C. Dahls Brewery will produce local Dahls beer and new craft beers, which will blend craft brewing traditions of both US and Norway.
Commenting on the collaboration, Brooklyn Brewery founder and chairman Steve Hindy said: "When we started Brooklyn Brewery, we wanted to tap into the great brewing tradition of Brooklyn.
"Our first beer, Brooklyn lager, was based on the beers that were brewed in Brooklyn during the heyday of the Brooklyn breweries. Trondheim's E.C Dahls Brewery has kept Norway's lager brewing tradition alive and is a wonderful foundation for a 21st Century craft brewery. Brooklyn Brewery will work with E.C Dahl's Norwegian brewers to expand the brewing offerings of E.C Dahls and usher in a new era of craft brewing innovation."
Carlsberg and Brooklyn earlier collaborated to open a craft brewery in Stockholm last year.
