A Collaboration Agreement to Integrate Brainlab's Exactrac Patient Positioning System

Elekta has entered into a collaboration agreement to integrate Brainlab's ExacTrac patient positioning system into its radiation therapy machines.

Field-proven ExacTrac system, which is designed for supporting frameless stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) for patients with tumors of the brain, spine and other anatomy, provides accuracy during the entire SRT procedure and helps to reduce errors within the process, thereby maximizing overall treatment accuracy.

By utilizing the option of non-invasive frameless SRT, physicians are also able to provide patients a better treatment experience, increasing comfort and reducing anxiety.

Elekta said two radiation therapy systems fitted with ExacTrac are scheduled to be installed at Fortis Healthcare.
