CHCGIA Will Hold The Annual Central Highlands Irrigation Awards Dinner Dance

The Central Highlands Cotton Growers & Irrigators Association (CHCGIA) will hold the annual Central Highlands Irrigation Awards Dinner Dance on 16 August, 2013 at the Emerald Town Hall.

The dinner will celebrate the 40th anniversary since the first release of water from the Fairbairn irrigation scheme in Queensland’s Central Highlands, Queensland and will be a reunion for past and present growers and anyone involved in the scheme.

The inaugural Central Highlands Irrigation History Book is currently being compiled to celebrate this significant milestone, with the official book launch to take place next year. The book aspires to capture the past 40 years of irrigation farming with the benefits of water flowing from the Fairbairn Dam.

A slideshow presentation highlighting photos from the book, as well as personal anecdotes from past growers and industry members, will be presented on the night to reflect the interesting and rich history of the scheme.
