A 4.4 % Reduction in Order Intake to EURO142.1m in The Third Quarter of 2013

Homag Group has reported a 4.4 % reduction in order intake to €142.1m in the third quarter of 2013 from €148.6m in the previous quarter. However, new orders were 13.8 % higher than the same stretch last year. CEO Dr. Markus Flik said that order intake had reached its highest level for a third quarter since 2007. Incoming orders had risen in a year-on-year comparison in both Western and Eastern Europe. In Eastern Europe, Homag managed to increase its all-important project business. Homag noted that orders from Central Europe remained lower than last year's high level, as had been expected. The North American market grew again in the third quarter. However, Brazil did not see a continuation of the positive trend recorded in the second quarter. Order intake from Asia was higher than last year once again. Homag Group had an order backlog of €229.4m as of the end of September.
