Acura, a luxury vehicle unit of Japanese automaker Honda Motors, has unveiled the RLX hybrid concept at the New York International auto show.
The hybrid is powered by a 3.5 litre direct-injected VTEC V-6 engine and sport hybrid SH-AWD system, with three electric motors mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, which jointly produce about 370hp.
Its safety features include a collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist system, forward collision warning and lane departure warning system.
Acura said that the production version of RLX will be launched next year which will be offered with a 310hp, front-wheel-drive system and precision all wheel steer.
RLX is expected to deliver EPA rating of 30mpg in city.
The carmaker is expecting to sell 180,000 vehicles for the brand this year which marks 50% rise in its production in 2011.
