Belgium-based Asahi Photoproducts said it will bring the future of flexo printing at this month’s Eurasia Packaging 2017 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The company is expanding its regional distributor footprint at the show.
Apart from Penta Matbaa Makina as a distribution partner, Asahi will also be introducing a new dealer relationship with Imeks Grup.
Highlight of all its innovations at the Eurasia Packaging for Asahi will be the Clean Transfer plate portfolio, which is said to facilitate a clean ink transfer.
According to Asahi sales manager Philip Mattelaer, the technology will also prevent accumulation of ink on the plate surfaces and dot shoulders of screen areas.
With the Clean Transfer plate technology, fewer cleaning intervals and reduced press downtime are experienced by manufacturers along with significant quality improvements.
Mattelaer added: “Precise plate register achieved with Asahi plates ensures very high quality process printing with a fixed colour palette, minimizing the need to use and manage spot colour inks.
“We believe fixed color palette is the future of flexo, and we’ll be on a mission to help educate the Turkish market on its benefits!”
Asahi says that the Clean Transfer Technology enables a kiss-touch printing pressure setting. Through a specially engineered Asahi polymer chemistry, the technology uses low plate surface tension to block liquid flow.
The ink with a large contact angle and high pinning point forms a globule, resulting in a cleaner and more homogeneous ink transfer from plate to substrate. This, Asahi says would help flexographic printers address the ever-growing quality demands of their customers.
The Clean Transfer Technology also ensures precise register and lower number of press stops for cleaning or plate changes, thereby boosting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
