The Navigators Would Manage Its Global Catastrophe Business

The Navigators Group, a commercial property/casualty insurer, has implemented AIR Worldwide's CLASIC/2 and CATRADER modeling technologies to manage its global catastrophe business.

The catastrophe models are expected to be used by the firm for risk assessment from wind, flood, and earthquake for their exposures in North America, Latin America, Europe and Japan.

AIR Worldwide senior vice president Bill Churney said the models with geographic and peril coverage will help the firm to meet its specialty lines of insurance and reinsurance needs.

CLASIC/2 and CATRADER technologies are capable of providing a detailed and realistic view of risk to help the companies assess catastrophe loss potential from portfolio level to the individual location level.

Navigators is an international specialty insurance holding company with insurance company operations, underwriting management companies and operations at Lloyd's of London, and operates offices in the US, UK and Continental Europe.
