US-based Red Hare Brewing has selected Novelis' evercan recyclable aluminum sheet for its craft beer packaging.
The cans made of evercan aluminum sheet would reduce the company's environmental footprint, while preserving the freshness and enhancing the taste of the crafted beer.
Novelis president and CEO Phil Martens said the latest introduction marks the commercial availability of the company's recycled content aluminum beverage can.
"Working with Red Hare, we have developed a proven supply chain to deliver this industry-first offering to consumers, setting an example that other beverage companies are sure to follow," Martens added.
Red Hare's beers in the new cans are expected to be available on store shelves beginning in May 2014 in key markets across the southeastern US.
Novelis' facilities in North America, Europe, South America and Asia are now certified by SCS Global Services to produce evercan.
