A-B Has Settled a Lawsuit Which Was Filed by Two Miami Residents in The US

Anheuser-Busch (A-B) InBev has settled a lawsuit which was filed by two Miami residents in the US over deceptive Kirin beer packaging.

The two residents accused the company for misleading consumers through its Kirin beer packaging that displayed the beer being brewed in Japan. The beer was actually brewed in Los Angeles and Virginia.

The preliminary settlement has been approved by Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge John Thornton on 17 December 2014, reports St. Louis Business Journal.

According to Law360, consumers will be permitted to a refund, up to $50 per household, consisting of 50% per six pack of 12-ounce bottles, $1 per 12 pack of 12-ounce bottles, or 10% per individual bottle or can, with proof of purchase.

A-B will also change the label on Kirin bottles to the phrase "Brewed under Kirin's strict supervision by Anheuser-Busch in Los Angeles, CA and Williamsburg, VA".

St. Louis Business Journal cited An A-B spokesman as saying that: "We believe our labeling, packaging and marketing of Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light have always been truthful."
