Italian Domestic Scrap Prices Generally Remained Stable

In January this year,Italian domestic scrap prices generally remained stable, but towards the end of the month price decreases started to be seen in line with the general price trend in Europe,as Maurizio Calcinoni, president of Italian scrap consumers association Nuovo Campsider, has told SteelOrbis.

Mr.Calcinoni went on to say that further-and probably significant-reductions are forecast for local Italian scrap prices in the current month"due to the situation in the scrap market itself and the situation in the finished steel market where demand remains weak".
