Swiss specialty chemicals firm Clariant is strengthening its collaboration with Gettel High-Tech Materials on biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) manufacturing in China.
The companies will jointly promote additives and liquid feeding technology in BOPP industry in China.
Clariant will distribute its new technologies and products in the country, while Gettel is said to leverage Clariant's solutions such as antistatic additive Hostastat FA 68 combined with liquid feeding technology and AddWorks LXR 408.
Based in Wenzhou of China, Gettel is engaged in the production of BOPP with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year.
The company produces BOPP films, including adhesive tape film, matt film, heat sealable film, lamination film and film for bag making and laser labels.
Combining Hostastat FA 68 antistatic agent with liquid feeding technology, Clariant's total solution approach will deliver better antistatic performance for film products and helps to reduce the production cost.
The solution enables to generate reduced levels of volatiles during production, in addition to decreasing oil stains on the film.
Gettel High-Tech Materials president Fang Wenbing said: "As a close business partner of Clariant, we recognize the great values that their additive solutions are bringing us in BOPP film production.
“With the strategic partnership we are forming, we've decided to equip all of our production lines with Clariant's liquid feeding technology and additive products.”
Clariant additive business unit Asia Pacific business development manager Frank Liu said: “With this cooperation and our additive solutions, we hope to help the whole BOPP industry in China to upgrade its production technology, improve product quality and save material costs.”
