Big Rock Sports announced Andy Melville has been promoted to the newly created position of president of Big Rock Sports.
In his new role, Melville will oversee the daily operations of Big Rock's Shooting Sports, Fishing and Canada Divisions, as well as Customer Service, Marketing and Chain Sales. Under this new structure, Brian Phillips will remain Division President of Shooting Sports and Dave Martin will remain Division President of Fishing, while Mark Harrison has been named Managing Director of Big Rock's Canada Division. All three will now report to Melville.
"This promotion recognizes the many contributions Andy has made to Big Rock Sports over the years," said Ed Small, Big Rock Sports CEO. "His experience and demonstrated leadership will allow Big Rock to continue to execute on our 'Customer-First' culture throughout the company."
Melville began his career with Big Rock Sports in the mid-1980s as a Henry's Tackle salesman, working for Adrian Holler, who is now Chairman of Big Rock Sports, and Dick Henry, founder of Henry's Tackle, Sea Striker and Star Rods. Over the next 18 years, Melville held executive sales and marketing roles at Polaroid, Disney and Department 56, while completing his MBA. In 2006, he returned home to Big Rock Sports in the position of VP of Sales.
Since his return to Big Rock Sports, Melville has served as a key member of the Executive Team, holding the roles of VP, SVP and EVP of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. Melville's most recent responsibilities have included Operations, IT and Demand Planning, as well as serving as President of Big Rock's Canada Division. In his new role as President of Big Rock Sports, Melville will continue to report to CEO Ed Small.
