General Motor (GM) Europe is planning to unveil the new Chevrolet Trax mini-crossover in September this year at the Paris Auto Show in France.
The new Trax is expected to be offered in two petrol and a diesel variants: 1.6litre petrol unit, which will deliver an output of 113hp, a 1.4litre turbocharged petrol unit generating 138hp output and 1.7litre CDTI diesel will produce an output of 128hp.
GM Product Development senior vice president Mary Barra said, "The Trax provides Chevrolet an entry into a growing small SUV segment and delivers the flexibility, great fuel economy and car-like handling that urban explorers around the world require."
The new five-seated SUV will be launched in over 140 markets, and will be firstly launched in Mexico and Canada fourth quarter of this year, while the carmaker has no plans to launch the crossover in US.
The small SUV, a variant of the company's Buick Encore, joins other brand new or redesigned Chevrolet vehicles being launched this year, including the Spark mini-car, Malibu sedan, and Traverse wagon.
