Snoqualmie Winery Launched New Sustainable Packaging for Its Entire Line of Wines

US-based wine producer Snoqualmie Winery has launched new sustainable packaging for its entire line of wines.

According to the company, the wines in lightweight, 397g ECO glass bottles are available across the nation since February 2013 and the offering in new packaging results in a 13% reduction in carbon emissions.

When compared with an average wine bottle, the new bottles are claimed to be made with 25% less glass and require less fuel to transport.

The packaging includes new EarthLabel brand white labels designed to enhance shelf presence with a sleek and modern feel.

Snoqualmie Winery senior marketing manager Kirsten Elliot said the lightweight glass bottles would help the company in reducing its carbon footprint.

"Beginning in the vineyard and carrying through to the winery and our packaging, it's our belief that investing in these practices is the best way to highlight the wines," Elliot added.

Snoqualmie Winery further said the corks and labels used in the packaging are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The corks are also certified by the Rainforest Alliance.
