The Taiwan Electronic Equipment Industry Association (TEEIA) has formed an Industry 4.0 group that will be geared toward fostering development of smart factory and production processes in Taiwan in order to help local makers stay competitive in the market.
Part of the developments will include improved self automation for equipment and smart manufacturing for industries including displays and semiconductors in order to meet new and diverse production demand as well as meet diverse requirements as a result of the Internet of Things (IoT).
TEEIA added it is also working with the local government to further develop smart services.
Meanwhile, Advantech, the largest Taiwan-based industrial computing device maker, Panasonic and Aurotek, a Taiwan sales agent for automation components produced by Advantech and Panasonic, have recently signed for cooperation to promote Industry 4.0 and smart factory solutions in Taiwan, according to Advantech.
