Brazil's motor vehicle output in December this year decreased by 18.6 percent from the previous month and by 12.1 percent year on year to 235,858 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 353,843 units in December last year, decreasing by 1.5 percent year on year and increasing by 16.8 percent compared to the previous month. 18.8 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles. In 2013, Brazil's new motor vehicle registrations decreased by 0.9 percent year on year to 3.78 million units.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in December last year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 40,267 units, decreasing by 11 percent compared to the previous month and down 2.2 percent year on year. In 2013, the country's motor vehicle exports increased by 26.5 percent year on year to 563,268 units.
Meanwhile, in December the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) rose by 14.5 percent year on year to $1.2 billion, decreasing by 9.2 percent month on month. In 2013, Brazilian motor vehicle exports totaled $16.57 billion in value, rising by 13.5 percent compared to 2012.
