Australia Post has appointed Robert Black as executive general manager, Parcel Services, effective 12 January, 2015.
Mr Black will be responsible for the Parcel Services division, which operates the StarTrack brand. The Parcel Services division has continued to perform strongly in an increasingly competitive market, posting a $337.5 million operating EBIT for FY14, up 20.8 per cent on last year.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, Australia Post says Mr Black has a deep knowledge of the local and international transport and logistics sector and a proven track record in delivering strategic infrastructure projects.
Australia Post managing director and group CEO Ahmed Fahour said: “Bob Black is an executive of extremely high calibre and I am pleased to announce that he is joining Australia Post to lead our Parcel Services business. His global knowledge will enable him to shape the future of this dynamic business, leveraging the significant infrastructure and technology investments we have made over the past two years.

Mr Black joins Australia Post from global express delivery company TNT, where he was recently appointed as managing director for TNT Benelux, which includes Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. From 2009 to 2014, Mr Black was the managing director for TNT Australia, responsible for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region. In this role, Mr Black achieved consistent revenue and EBIT growth across the business, with a significant growth in the international business.
