LED epitaxial wafer maker and LED packaging service provider Lextar Electronics on March 5 reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.054 billion (US$33.5 million) for February, decreasing 17.05% on month but increasing 19.61% on year, and NT$2.324 billion for January-February, growing on year by 10.67%.
The sequential decrease was due to fewer working days because of the Lunar New Year holidays in February, Lextar said.
Lextar began large-volume shipments of LED backlight units used in new LCD TV models to Japan- and China-based vendors in the first quarter of 2015, the company indicated.
For LED lighting, Lextar will soon increase production of home-use LED light bulbs, the company said. In addition, Lextar said it will promote DOB (driver on board)-based LED lighting solutions for adoption by LED lamp vendors.
