Custom MMIC Launches 2-20GHz Wideband Distributed Amplifier

Monolithic microwave integrated circuit developer Custom MMIC of Westford, MA, USA has added to its BroadRange family of wideband gallium arsenide (GaAs) MMIC distributed amplifiers with the 2-20GHz CMD238, suitable for military, space and communications systems where small die size and high linearity are needed over a wide bandwidth.

Operating from a recommended single positive drain supply voltage of Vdd = 3-9V, at 8V (typical) and a frequency of 10GHz the device delivers 14dB of gain with a corresponding P1dB (output power at 1dB compression point) of +26dBm, an output IP3 (third-order intercept point) of +34dBm, and a 2nd-harmonic level (with Pout = 11dBm) of -33dBc. The CMD238 is a replacement for the CMM0014.

The CMD238 is a 50Ω matched design that eliminates the need for external DC blocks and RF port matching, and offers full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection.
