Cargill Has Completed The Modernization Project of Its Hales Point Grain Elevator

Cargill, a US-based agribusiness company, has completed the modernization project of its Hales Point grain elevator with an investment of $25m, in time for this year's harvest.

Cargill AgHorizons Mid-South Farm Service Group general manager Barry Brandstetter said that the project focused primarily on improvements that would benefit the farmer customer.

The investment would enable the company to significantly increase the trucks that can be unloaded every hour, which will in turn lower the the wait time at the peak of harvest.

Further, Cargill will be able to speed up the loading of barges for Gulf exports.

Currently, the company purchases corn, soybeans and soft red winter wheat at Hales Point, and the additional capacity will enable it to buy milo and sorghum grain.
