Japanese carmaker Mazda has launched its Demio 13C-V Smart Edition II compact car (Mazda2) in the country.
The new FWD compact is powered by cmated to continuously variable transmission (CVT) and offers a 0.4km/L enhanced fuel economy offering 20.6km/L under JC08 mode test cycle.
According to the carmaker, the 13C-V Smart Edition II meets the criteria for a 50% reduction in the vehicle acquisition and weight taxes under eco-car tax reduction programme in Japan.
The new compact featuring keyless entry option and start system, two advanced keys and immobilizer, will be available at a starting price of JPY1,220,000 ($15,393.1).
Mazda said that the new Demio is offered in different versions including 13C, 13-SKYACTIV, 15C and SPORT, which are available at prices between JPY1,149,000 ($14,497.2) to JPY1,621,750 ($20,462).
