Ukrainian Subsidiary Arcelormittal Kryvyi Rih Has Finished The Overhaul

Global steel giant ArcelorMittal has announced that its Ukrainian subsidiary ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has finished the overhaul of its blast furnace No. 7 in just 26 days. During this period, the blast furnace in question was idle for four weeks. The company stated that, while production continued with only two blast furnaces, this did not affect its production performance in April.

With the calibration device newly installed in the blast furnace, the coke consumption equivalent will be reduced to around 25 kg per metric ton of hot metal.

According to ArcelorMittal, blast furnaces have been recognized as an area that can provide significant cost savings for ArcelorMittal's new $3 billion management gains plan. Blast furnaces have been made a priority for the 2013-2015 plan.
