The Next-Generation Nissan Will Be Unveiled at The Frankfurt Motor Show

2014 Nissan Dualis: Next-Gen Crossover Teased

The next-generation Nissan Dualis has been teased ahead of its September 10 unveiling at the Frankfurt motor show.

Attached to a one-line release claiming the all-new crossover utility vehicle “will push the envelope of CUV design”, the teaser image of the Dualis – known as the Qashqai in Europe and Rogue in the US – reveals little.

Barely lit, the Nissan‘s headlight with LED daytime running lights can be seen along with the edge of a chrome grille, a strongly sculptured bonnet, a new wheel design and black plastic cladding around the front left wheel arch.

Revealing more of what to expect from the upcoming model are our recent illustrations (pictured) and a small image of the 2014 Rogue seen on the Japanese manufacturer’s US consumer website.

Yet to announce official details, Nissan is expected to offer petrol and diesel powerplants on the Dualis, including the Australian market’s current 2.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre turbo-diesel units, as well as front- and all-wheel-drive variants.

The Renault-developed turbo-diesel engine has been speculated as being available in two states of tune for the 2014 model, while a turbocharged 1.2-litre unit has been rumoured to replace Europe’s naturally aspirated 1.6-litre petrol. A more performance orientated Dualis Nismo model is also anticipated, following in the footsteps of the Juke Nismo.

Nissan is also yet to confirm the continuation of the seven-seat Dualis+2 model in the line-up.

Considered a global success for Nissan, the first-generation Dualis was released in 2007.
