Amantys Has Announced The Appointment of Karen Oddey as New CEO

Amantys has announced the appointment of Karen Oddey as CEO.

Oddey recently managed C-MAC Aerospace through to the successful sale of the business to API Technologies.

"Karen brings to the team a depth of experience of electronics and technology leadership, having successfully navigated businesses through periods of significant transformation in products, systems and markets," said Amantys chairman Pete Magowan.

"Karen's background in diverse industries will be invaluable as we progress our customer engagements in wind turbine converters, HVDC transmission, medium voltage motor drives and locomotive traction converters," said Magowan.

Amantys recently secured a new investment round of $8m in November 2012, to further develop and market its Power Drive family of IGBT gate drivers.

"The team has developed a compelling series of Tier 1 OEM design-ins with its IGBT gate drive family of products, so it's an exciting time to join," said Oddey.

Bryn Parry founding CEO of Amantys is staying with the company to become v-p corporate development.

After an early engineering career in the power industry with NEI Parsons, Oddey moved into product and general management at 3Com. 

Oddey later served as managing director of the UK Land and Joint Systems Division at Thales and managing director of Technology Solutions Business at QinetiQ Group, before joining C-MAC.
