Plantic Uses High-Barrier Films From Linpac Packaging for Exclusive Distribution Agreement

Australia-based Plantic Technologies, a manufacturer of biomaterials, is set to use high-barrier films from Linpac Packaging as part of an exclusive distribution agreement.

Under the terms of the deal, Plantic will use Linpac films, under the Plantic Clear Seal trade name, as lidding material. Plantic's biomaterials are based on high-amylose corn starch which provides packaging for fresh meat, poultry and pasta.

Plantic Technologies managing director and CEO Brendan Morris said they were pleased to add LINPAC Packaging films to its portfolio which allows Plantic to offer its customers in Australia and the Americas with the most advanced and complete packaging solutions available.

"Working with LINPAC Packaging, Europe's leading multi-material food packaging company, will enable Plantic to leverage their wide of range of products and customer applications from Europe into the Australian and American markets," Morris said.

Plantic Technologies head office, principal manufacturing and research and development facilities are located in Australia. It also has manufacturing operations in Germany and sales offices in the US and UK.

LINPAC was founded in England in 1959 as Lincolnshire Packaging - and has its international headquarters in Featherstone, UK.
