It’s reported that the South Korean heavy plate manufacturers’ sales volumes of shipbuilding plate decreased obviously this year.
According to statistics released by the Korea Iron and Steel Association, the South Korean heavy plate makers sold around 1.343 million tonnes of shipbuilding plates in the first quarter of this year, accounting for 66.5% of the total sales.
However, the sales volumes slumped to 1.148 million tonnes in the third quarter, acquiring 58.7% of the total sales.
It’s analyzed that the obviously decreased sales volumes of shipbuilding plates were caused by the lower ship construction of the local shipbuilding companies.
