It's reported that NLMK North America has sent a letter to its customers that it planned to temporarily shut down one of its galvanizing line. Their light-gauge No.2 galvanizing line in Pennsylvania will temporarily be shut down until market conditions becomes favorable. This however does not affect other production lines in their plant as the operation at its heavier-gauge line will be continued. Some sources said that the move to shut down the line was not a reflection of low demand in the coated industry, but rather of overcapacity.
