Sunjet Has Launched Low Migration UV Inkjet Inks for The Non-Food Packaging

Global inkjet division of Sun Chemical and DIC group, SunJet along with Durst Phototechnik has launched low migration UV inkjet inks for the non-food contact side of primary food packaging.

The technology, which can be used on a range of media such as PP and PE in the label sector, will also find its use as a foil for food and pharma applications, and heat sensitive films for shrink sleeves.

According to the company, the technology complies with guidelines and the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) of EuPIA, Nestlé standards on materials in contact with food and Nestlé Guidance note on packaging inks.

SunJet Global product manager Rick Hulme said the company has collaborated with Durst to deliver the UV inkjet technology to the food packaging market.

"Our ambition was to establish a unique solution to lead the market and meet the challenging legislation of this sector," Hulme added.

Durst Phototechnik is an Italy-based manufacturer of professional digital imaging systems for large format, industrial, textile and label printing applications.
