In February this year, China’s auto exports totaled 67,000 vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 9.1 percent, compared to the year-on-year increase of 23.5 percent recorded in the same month last year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). In the January-February period of the current year, China’s auto exports reached 140,700 units, up 19.1 percent year on year.
In January-February this year, China’s passenger car exports amounted to 88,100 vehicles, up 29.6 percent, while its light commercial vehicle exports reached 52,600 units, up 4.9 percent, both year on year. For the given period, China’s top auto exporter was Chery Automobile, followed by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), Geely Automobile, Dongfeng Motor and Great Wall Motor.
Meanwhile, in February this year, China’s auto imports totaled 60,600 vehicles, down 38.7 percent year on year. In addition, the total import figure for the January-February period was 131,000 vehicles, down 28.8 percent year on year.
