Tarkett invites architects and designers to participate in its video contest, “Looking Back, Stepping Forward.” This competition challenges entrants to reflect on buildings and interior spaces that inspire them and address, in a two-minute video, the impact the building or space has had on their creativity and given the chance, how they might renovate or refresh it for the future.
Today, architects and designers are charged with creating dynamic spaces that connect the purpose, values and objectives of an organization with its people.
And though the future has a great deal to offer, inspiration is often drawn from the past. As the leader in the specialty flooring industry, Johnsonite, the commercial arm of Tarkett, delivers products, systems and solutions that inspire and establish balance – between people, the environment and the bottom line. Through the contest, the company wants to see how architects and designers draw inspiration, what moves them and how they can build on the past to form a unique vision for the future.
The contest is now open for submissions. Entries will be accepted until September 3, 2013. A jury of industry media, architects and designers will evaluate the videos based on their creativity, originality and production as well as how responses resonate with the audience. Winning videos will be announced in November 2013 and posted on the contest website. Winning architects and or designers will receive cash prizes totaling $1,750, including $1,000 for the first place video.
