TriStar Wellness Solutions has entered into an agreement to license Argentum Medical's Silverlon technology for use in the over-the-counter (OTC) wound care market.
Under the15-year licensing agreement, TriStar will develop, market and sell OTC products based on Silverlon's proprietary silver coating technology for wound treatment.
The technology, with its permanently plated metallic surface, reduces the occurrence of surgical site infections, claims Argentum Medical.
TriStar Wellness Solutions president and CEO John Linderman said the licensed technology has the ability to stop the bleeding, protect and prevent the wound from increasing in size.
"TriStar Wellness Solutions' first wound care product addresses the nuisance bleeding portion of the market, and is in an area we believe has the potential for significant growth, targeting the unmet needs of approximately 50 million Americans," Linderman added.
"We intend to capitalize on Silverlon's technology, develop new products, and use our marketing expertise to bring these products to market, adding to our growing portfolio of brands."
