India-based Parle Agro has unveiled its beverage brands Frooti and Appy in new 250ml Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge cartons that are made of paper.
The cartons, called bottle packs, are designed to provide a perfect blend of the functionality of a bottle and come with fully re-sealable screwcap.
Parle Agro collaborated with Tetra Pak, a provider of food processing and packaging solutions, to design and develop the paper-based bottle packs that can be recycled into several products such as stationary and furniture.
The company holds about 66% market share in Tetra Pak packaging of still beverages.
According to the company, the six-layer tamper-evident Tetra Pak packaging prevents beverages from oxygen, light and bacterial spoilage.
Park Agro's Frooti and Appy brands in new packs will be sold initially in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir states of India.
