Indonesia Imposes Antidumping Duty on Cold Rolled Coil and Sheet Imports From Countries

Indonesia has imposed antidumping (AD) duty on cold rolled coil and sheet imports from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam to prevent material injury to domestic producers, as reported by Indonesian newspaper Jakarta Post.

The antidumping duty ranging between 5.9 and 55.6 percent will be valid for three years. According to the Jakarta Post report, the highest duty rate will be imposed on Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. (NSSMC).

The antidumping duty investigation was initiated by the Indonesia Antidumping Committee (KADI) upon the application filed by domestic steel producer Krakatau Steel, "which claimed it suffered considerable losses from unfair competition from imported steel sold at lower prices in the local market."
