Chrysler Group Reported US Sales of an 11% Increase Compared with Sales in July 2012

For July, Chrysler Group reported US sales of 140,102 units, an 11 percent increase compared with sales in July 2012 (126,089 units), and the group's best July sales since 2006. July 2013 also reflected the 40th consecutive month of year-on-year sales gains for the automaker.

Ford Motor Company's US sales for July increased 11 percent compared with a year ago, for the best total July monthly sales since 2006; retail sales surged 19 percent, for the best July retail sales since 2005. With tight inventories, retail car sales are up 13 percent, utilities are up 19 percent, and trucks are up 27 percent, with strong growth in the coastal regions.

General Motors reported that largest gain of the three, with sales in the US totaling 234,071 units, up 16 percent from July 2012. Retail sales rose 23 percent while fleet sales fell 6 percent.
