Pentaplast Group Has Strengthened Its Production Capacity in Europe and South America

Rigid film solutions manufacturer Klöckner Pentaplast Group has strengthened its production capacity in Europe and South America as part of its €45.6m investment program.

The firm invested €6m at Newport/Crumlin facility in the UK to add 8,000t of capacity. This facility primarily provides solutions to CPG industries.

The company added approximately 1,200t of coating and laminating capacity to its Sao Paulo facility in Brazil. This would help in the production of Pentapharm alfoil PVdC-coated and Pentapharm ACLAR-laminated packaging films in order to serve the pharmaceutical companies of the Latin America region.

Further, to serve the pharmaceutical, food, print and card industries, the company added 12,000t to the PVC calendering capacity.

It also intends to boost the matte calendering capacity in the later part of this year.

Klöckner Pentaplast chief executive Christian Holtmann was quoted by the Plastics in Packaging as saying, "Klöckner Pentaplast's 2013 and 2014 expansion plans demonstrate our commitment to supporting our customers around the world with consistent, high-quality film and superior service and technical support."

The company has manufacturing facilities in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
