As reporter learned recently that although there is great need in Shenzhen, but, there is no abundant amount of gas station, thus, posing a big barrier for LNG trucks to be popularized.
Xu Xiaoming is GM of Xinghua Energy Company, who ventured into the first LNG station with another company. The station could refuel 300 trucks a day. As predicted, there will be 1000 LNG trucks in Shenzhen with more than 18 LNG stations be in operation.
However, half a yea has passed, there is only one LNG station, and the company has tried many ways, all did not work out satisfactorily.
Although LNG is a key project for Shenzhen government, and the policies are already carried out, but the process took longer than expected. Also, the sales situation of LNG trucks in Shenzhen is much worse than expected. The target for 2015 is 20000 units but, now the number is far far below that.
DFAC is major seller of LNG trucks in the city, the staff said that many customers are interested in LNG trucks, but they do not place an order.
DFAC only sold 20 some LNG trucks while another famous LNG truck maker also only sold 50 units. The key reason for the low sales figure lays with the lack of LNG stations. If there is no enough LNG stations, the LNG trucks won't operate normally.
Transportation companies and express companies are very intested in LNG trucks, but, the lack of LNG stations has persuaded them against buying LNG trucks.
