According to data released by the Korean Iron and Steel Association (Kosa), the country’s hot rolled coil output totaled 2.99 million tons in October, rising by 12% from a month ago and up by 5% year on year. I
ndustry sources indicated that the rise in HRC output was driven by expanded capacity at Hyundai Steel’s hot strip mill in Dangjin and increased output at Posco.
It’s known that Posco’s HRC output was disrupted in August due to a fire at its No.2 steelmaking plant but the operation has been resumed now.
