In the first quarter of the current year, Georgia's exports of semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, increased by 116.59 percent year on year to 21,749 metric tons, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). Meanwhile, the value of these exports totaled $10.38 million, up 114 percent year on year.
Exports from Georgia to Turkey of the semi-finished products in question had only amounted to 10,041 metric tons in the same period of 2013
