Japanese Steelmakers Have Hiked The Prices for Steel Long Products Recently

It’s reported that the Japanese steelmakers have hiked the prices for steel long products recently, supported by stable demand from construction industry and higher steel and raw material prices.

Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) hiked the contract price for H beams by ¥3,000/ton for July and Tokyo Steel increased the actual selling prices for steel long products by ¥3,000/ton for August.

Besides, Yamato Steel and Kishiwada Steel increased rebar prices by ¥3,000/ton for August.

At present, the actual selling prices for section steel products are at ¥70,000~¥71,000/ton and the rebar prices are at ¥60,000~¥61,000/ton.
