Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc. will present new research at UTECH Europe 2015 that demonstrates how thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) based on polyester polyol building blocks from a renewable, plant-based source — Elevance Inherent C18 Diacid — result in a new semi-crystalline class of polyurethanes that can meet the demand for renewable materials that need to survive in aggressive, high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
Ultimately, Elevance will demonstrate how polyols based on Inherent C18 Diacid will allow the polyurethane market to expand product offerings with renewable materials in applications such as ABS brake lines in automotive undercarriages, hot melt adhesives, high-performance coatings and sports equipment.
