Glass packaging provider Allied Glass has designed a new bottle for Blackwoods’ new spirit range.
Blackwoods, which is owned by Hi-Spirits, is claimed to be the world’s first vintage gin, made with harvested Shetland botanicals.
The brand was subject to a packaging overhaul, with the Golden Age of Cocktails inspired bottles.
Earlier bottled in a standard container, the new pale green glass bottle has better quality.
Blackwoods is the original vintage Gin, made in small batches leveraging a traditional copper pot still.
Hi-Spirits managing director and distributor Dan Bolton said: ‘The new Blackwoods design celebrates the 2017 vintage and aligns with the new formulation for the popular and successful spirits in the range,’ he continues:
‘The involvement of bartenders in finalising the recipes ensures that Blackwoods is up-to-date in terms of consumer appeal, while evoking the classic age of cocktails in the roaring 1920s.
“The bottle, which was designed without compromise, perfectly conveys the premium nature of the spirit whilst evoking the shape of old soda siphons, the superb faceting, which is reminiscent of vintage glassware allowing light to beautifully shine through.”
Earlier this month, Allied Glass provided a new blue glass bottle for Smeaton’s Bristol Method Dry Gin.
An original handwritten recipe for 1870’s Bristol Method Dry Gin was recreated, bottled and introduced as Smeaton’s.
Denomination has designed the identity and packaging for Smeaton’s, while Allied Glass manufactured the glass bottle for the product.
In February this year, llied Glass also provided a brand new bottle for Scottish gin Caorunn.
The new bottle is said to represent five natural Scottish botanicals that surround the Speyside distillery.
Allied Glass is engaged in the designing, developing and manufacturing of luxury glass packaging for the spirits industry.
